The Little Premier Comedy Club takes its name from Somercotes' historic Premier Electric Theatre. First opened in 1912, it grew into a theatre and cinema with room for more than 1,000 people, before a fire brought its cinema days to an end in 1960.
Help bring the Premier back to life
Somercotes Parish Council and local campaigners are working towards a £5 million restoration of the historic building. Their vision is to revive it as a theatre, cinema and community space, opening up opportunities for local people and young performers.

The Little Premier Comedy Club is part of the fundraising events at Somercotes Parish Hall supporting the restoration of the Premier Electric Theatre. The Parish Council has agreed that profits after event costs from these fundraising events will be ring-fenced for the theatre's restoration and development.
While the campaign works towards restoring the original theatre, we're bringing live stand-up to Somercotes Parish Hall. For now, performances take place at the Parish Hall, not inside the former theatre.
